Attention Appalachian Scholars!

The Graduate Appalachian Research Community is seeking abstracts for papers from undergraduate and graduate students in all disciplines (and from all KY colleges and universities) for the 2013 annual student research symposium on Appalachia, Saturday, 2/23.

Abstracts are due by 2/8. Here is the link to their call:  https://appalachiancenter.as.uky.edu/sites/default/files/GARC%20Symposium%20CFP%202013.pdf. This is a very supportive conference for first-time (and other) student presenters, and it is free.

Folks interested in attending the Appalachian Studies Association meetings in Boone, North Carolina in March should start planning their travel.  There should be plenty of opportunities for carpooling and hotel sharing.
