Positions Available at University of Texas, Austin



With support from the University administration, the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin is pleased to invite applications for the following tenure-track or tenured positions:

Quantitative Methods - Psychometrics (Open Rank). We seek to hire an exceptional scholar in the field of psychometrics with expertise in areas such as survey design, cognitive diagnostic models, advanced item response theory, dimensionality assessment, accountability and testing, generalizability theory, and equating. Applicants who wish to be considered at the associate or full rank must have a strong publication record and external funding to support their research.

Quantitative Methods - Statistics (Assistant Professor). We seek to hire an exceptional early career scholar in the field of statistics, research design and/or program evaluation with expertise in areas such as design, sampling, causal inference, procedures for handling missing data, dynamic longitudinal modeling, among other topics. Applicants must show promise of excellent research productivity and fundable research.

Successful candidates for position must have earned a doctorate by August 2013 with strong evidence of research potential or productivity. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Candidates are preferred who also demonstrate excellence and commitment to teaching and mentorship at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants whose interests span research in other areas within the department and college are particularly appealing.

The Department of Educational Psychology contains four doctoral degree programs: Quantitative Methods; Human Development, Culture & Learning Sciences; Counseling Psychology; and School Psychology (both APA accredited). The department is situated within the College of Education, which has been ranked #1 nationally for two consecutive years. The department and college provide excellent technology support including a statistical simulation laboratory and data visualization laboratory. The broad focus of the department and college is scholarship related to health and learning throughout the life span.
