Central States Anthropological Society
91st
Annual Meeting, April 10 to 12, 2014
Illinois
State University, Normal, Illinois
The 91st Annual Meeting of the
Central States Anthropological Society (CSAS) will be held at the Bloomington-Normal
Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, adjacent to Illinois State University,
from Thursday, April 10 through Saturday, April 12, 2014. Faculty, students,
independent scholars, and practitioners are invited to present or hear papers,
give poster presentations, and participate in workshops and roundtables in all
four fields of anthropology, including applied subdisciplines. This meeting also
offers an opportunity for anthropologists from throughout the central states
area, from institutions large and small, to meet, talk, and network together in
a welcoming professional environment, and through several informal activities
(a dance, planetarium presentation, and some ethnographic films).
Submission of abstracts (limited to
250 words) for individually volunteered presentations, organized sessions, and
posters is encouraged. The CSAS also encourages student participation in the
conference, including the submission of abstracts. Students are also invited to
enter their submitted papers in our undergraduate and graduate prize
competitions.
