PA 795 - 401 Special Topics in Public Policy
This course is a masters or PhD-level seminar surveying the scholarly literature on various education policies. We will examine studies of school finance, school choice, class size, teacher quality, teacher training, among international education perspectives, among other topics. The course will have a special emphasis on economic analysis and program evaluation. Masters level students can expect to write a final paper that surveys deeply surveys the literature on a subject of their choosing. PhD students will be expected to complete a full-length seminar paper, preferably something they can employ either as they prepare for or as they are conducting their dissertation research. We will have several guest speakers.

Pre-requisites are a statistics class. Students should contact Dr. Cowen for permission to register if they are interested, or for additional information.
