Opportunity in Undergraduate Advising

Undergraduate Studies seeks highly motivated individuals to join an experienced team of professional academic advisors who are committed to student success. Undergraduate Studies provides a home for students who are exploring majors at the University of Kentucky. In support of student retention, satisfaction, and timely graduation, our academic advisors work individually with their assigned students to help them clarify their academic and professional goals, realistically assess their capabilities and options, develop appropriate degree plans, connect with campus resources, and declare a major of interest.

The academic advisors in Undergraduate Studies contribute to the university’s recruitment efforts, assist students with their transition to the university and between colleges, and provide general academic advising to students from across campus. Undergraduate Studies also houses the university’s pre-law and pre-med advising, National Student Exchange program, and transfer student services.

Undergraduate Studies academic advisors are expected to provide proactive, personalized attention to each of their students; remain highly accessible and responsive to those students and multiple constituencies; actively collaborate with colleagues throughout the university and beyond; and engage in pursuits that ensure their own professional development.
