Position Announcement

POSITION:                                        

Assistant Professor, College of Education (Tampa Campus), Department of Educational Measurement and Research; 9-month, tenure-track, effective August 7, 2012.  Major responsibilities include: teaching courses in research methods at the master’s, Ed.S., and doctoral levels (delivered face-to-face and online); maintaining an active program of research and scholarship in research methods; securing external funding to support research and training agendas; advising and mentoring master’s, Ed.S., and doctoral degree students; and providing service to colleagues within the College, University, P-12 schools, and professional associations.  Applications from ABDs accepted but all degree requirements must be met by the start date: August 7, 2012.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
                                               
·         Earned doctorate with a major in educational research, research methods, evaluation, measurement or related field
·         Graduate level coursework in the area of research methods
·         Evidence of scholarly productivity
·         Commitment to teaching
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
·         Evidence of successful teaching experience in educational research methods
·         Expertise and a research record in areas that include quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods that add to the research strengths of the department
·         Experience with data analysis software (e.g., SAS, Mplus, atlas.ti, Transana)
·         Experience with online instruction and the use of technology in instruction
·         Demonstrated experience in mentoring students in their research
·         Record of federal or other major grant funding or the potential to secure grant funding
·         Record of interdisciplinary inquiry
·         Evidence of ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in school districts, state departments of education, testing companies, or universities in the areas of research, measurement, or evaluation
·         Commitment to support research on issues of diversity
 
SALARY:        Negotiable, competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
