Preview Night Coordinator- AUGUST – OCTOBER, 2012

THE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION IS SEEKING A UK PREVIEW NIGHT COORDINATOR TO REPRESENT THE COLLEGE.

The Academic Services & Teacher Certification Office wishes to employ a motivated person to serve as the 2012 Preview Night Coordinator to represent and recruit for the College of Education.  This person could be a graduate student, a part time staff member or faculty member, or college alumnus who can enthusiastically represent the College to prospective students and their parents.  Although it would be most satisfactory for the College to employ a single coordinator to attend all of the preview night events, this might not be possible, so two coordinators might be employed to share the coordinator responsibilities.

As Preview Night Coordinator, this person (or persons) will attend twenty-one UK Preview nights from August 27 through October 18.

Preview nights are scheduled in the evenings in various cities throughout Kentucky and surrounding states.  Preview night events are planned and managed by the UK admissions and recruitment office.  UK also manages travel to and from the Preview Night sites.

There is a stipend of $100.00 per preview night, with transportation (interstate bus) provided and reimbursement for dinner included.  Materials and training are supplied by staff in the Office of Academic Services and Teacher Certification.  (NOTE: For the out of state trips to Naperville, IL,  Atlanta, GA, Fairfax, PN, and Cleveland, OH the stipend is increased to $200.00 per night.)

Faculty and Staff are asked to contact potential preview night coordinators about this opportunity.  The experience of Preview Night Coordinators in earlier years has been very positive.  The UK bus service allows them to study or prepare for classes or conduct other personal business as needed.  Although there are late nights associated with Preview Night trips, this is a low-stress activity.  The time span for the assignment is limited, and the payment plan is adequate.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right person (s).
